Julien Clauss works in the field of media arts. His practice falls within the broader realm of sculpture, blending sound art, visual art, and radio art. Focused on the creation of spaces, his work draws on a concrete vocabulary—sometimes conceptual or minimalist—as well as the environment and contexts of land art, and perceptual and immersive experiences that tend toward a loss of bearings.
 
His abstract and materialist approach to sound places him at the intersection of repetitive music and minimalist or noise-based electronic music.
 
He creates sculptures, installations, performances, sound pieces, and radio installations. For the past 15 years, he has organized Modulation, a participatory micro-radio camp in the mountains.
