Benjamin Brunn
Benjamin Brunn was born in Mittweida, Germany, in 1977 and grew up in Chemnitz. He studied civil engineering in Dresden (Germany), England and Norway. In his childhood he took classical piano lessons for 7 years until he became interested in electronic music through parties at the club VOXXX in Chemnitz in 1995. In 1996 he started with his first compositions.
In 1998 and 1999 he produced two limited series of CD’s called “Fahrstuhlmusik” (elevator music) and distributed them via record stores in Chemnitz and Dresden. Thereby he came in contact with the record labels R.A.N.D. Muzik (Schmalkalden/Leipzig, Germany), with the Cologne based record label Ware and with Mole Listening Pearls based in Mannheim. On those labels he released his first CD’s and vinyl records in 1999 and 2000.
In 2001 he produced tracks in corporation with the Englishman Dave Wheels, formerly of Higher Intelligence Agency. Those recordings were released on the Airbag Craftworks Compilation II (Out to lunch) as well as on the Russian label between.us. In 2003 he became part of the art project tape10 that combines music with large-size photography and had exhibitions in the Museum of Applied Art Cologne as well as U.F.O. Frankfurt.
Since 2004 he has released on the German label Binemusic and since 2005 he has also been in charge of the cover design for the Binemusic productions. Now he lives in Hamburg.
He recently released a record together with Move D called “Let’s call it a day” on Binemusic.
