Holland Andrews and yuniya edi kwon

Holland Andrews & yuniya edi kwon are composer-improvisers, vocalists, and interdisciplinary performance makers based in Brooklyn, New York. Their collaborative practice is an emergent and embodied extension of their lives as ritualists, spiritual practitioners, and partners. Holland, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, arranges music for voice, clarinet, and electronics, harnessing the power of these instruments to address themes of vulnerability, catharsis, and healing. yuniya, in her work, connects sound, movement, and ceremony to explore transformation, transgression, and mythology’s ability to both obscure and reveal. They are in the process of developing an opera. Holland Andrews has worked with Son Lux, Christina Vantzou, William Britelle, West Thordson, Jjjjjjerome Ellis, Peter Broderick, Darian Donovan Thomas, and Nils Frahm. yuniya edi kwon collaborates with artists of diverse disciplines, including The Art Ensemble of Chicago, Tomeka Reid, and PinkNoise Ensemble.
As a violinist, violist, and/or vocalist, Yuniya has created alongside Roscoe Mitchell, Moor Mother, Sun Ra Arkestra, Jessika Kenney, Lesley Mok, and others.

Karen Willems (Permanent Draft, W.E.R.F. – BE)

Belgian drummer and percussionist Karen Willems is active in various fields. In her work, man, machine, and nature continually interact in constantly transforming constellations, a mission of searching, feeling, and letting go. She aims to find music that allows her to express herself as both a spiritual being and a creative artist. Her 2025 album, A Fool’s Guide to Reality, released on Valentina Magaletti’s Permanent Draft label, shows her incredible scope, where eccentricity and playfulness go hand in hand with exercises in tension and release, and calls for connection in antisocial times. With her solo work, she tries to stay away from her familiar drum, intent on creating a deeply personal and slightly wayward narrative that transforms and elevates, however much elevation is frowned upon. She has played and collaborated with people and bands such as Yuko, Mauro Pawlowski, Zwerm, among others. She is also active in theatre, dance, and contemporary music productions, and has collaborated with Ultima Vez, ChampdAction, Bl!ndman, etc.
