The Munich-based Ilian Tape label celebrates its 10th anniversary and celebrate by embarking on a European tour. NoName and meakusma have decided to invite them over to the Alter Schlachthof on April 15 as their tour schedule also takes them to Fabric in London, De School in Amsterdam and Berghain in Berlin.
Ilian Tape unites techno fans of different generations and scenes. The label has fine-tuned the art of fusing the raw and unpolished energy of 90s Detroit techno with new developments in club music, touching upon techno, broken beats and ambient next to being an essential part of the so-called comeback of the rave. At the center of all this stands a considerate and substantial release policy that avoids the grandiose and in turn aims for longevity and consistent development. Next to releases by the Zenker Brothers, Ilian Tape has recently worked with such artists as Skee Mask, Struction, Stenny and Andrea, all people with a distinct and unique voice in techno music.
Andrea will be performing live in Eupen. The Italian producer released his debut on Ilian Tape in 2012, connecting 90s breakbeats with warehouse techno and synthesizer soundscapes. His music allows for space and emotion to walk hand in hand, something of a rare feat in techno music. Label founder Dario Zenker will also come to Eupen, after first performing there together with his brother in December 2015. His DJ-sets are a quest into relevant contemporary dance music. Zenker was once a resident of the Munich club Harry Klein. He fuses a harder techno perspective with melodies and locked grooves. The versatility of his DJing betrays a childhood spent listening to techno music as his aunt ran the legendary Munich techno club Ultraschall. The Zenker Brothers released their diverse Immersion album on their own Ilian Tape label in 2015 next to releasing EP’s on Tresor and 50Weapons.
