Suzi Wong

Most likely, Suzi Wong would be a virtuos jazz piano player by now, if she had not been infected by Techno in the mid-90’s. So, it was only natural that she HAD to swap piano lessons for a mixer, two turntables and a busload lot of 12″” vinyls. This turned out to be the right decision, for she is now well known to the scene and as of the most in-demand female DJ’s in Berlin. Ms Wong was born as Christine Giese in Lower Saxonia in 1976, and this year, she celebrates her 10th anniversary as a DJ. 10 wild years of Wong-Parties everywhere between the underground (legendary semi-legal clubs like Dönerlounge or Bad Kleinen, for example) and the hippest clubs of the capital. WMF, Tresor, Maria or E-Werk, you name it, Suzi has played them all and rocked the crowds with her irresistible mix of Techno, pumping House, Electro and some rough sounds into one. She also enjoys a good reputation beyond Berlins boundaries, partly due to her recent tours with Juan Atkins & Blake Baxter, RJD2 and Andrea Parker that led her through all major German cities and last not least due to her gigs at big festivals suchas Sun Moon & Stars, Splash!, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. In addition to all the DJ’ing, she proves her musical versatility in her own radio show, Coke DJ culture, which she co-moderates with HipHop expert DJ B.Side since 2004. Suzi’s sets are dominated by her innovative and eclectic selection, a high level of energy, liveliness, an instinct for the moment and her empathy for the audience. Take this quote from her colleague Andrea Parker: “You can’t go wrong with Suzi Wong!”
