Spuk Disk (Weird Dust, Fyoelk, Tulips)

Spuk Disk is a new project by Johann Kauth (Fyoelk), Sebastian von der Heide (Tulips) and Michael Crabbé (Weird Dust).
It focusses on a self made audio library of soundeffects, locked grooves and rhythms cut to dubplates, to be played by an ensemble of dj’s using them as a tool to construct new compositions. It reflects the tradition of turntablism, treating the the recordplayer as an instrument and plays with the boundaries between performing live and DJ’ing.

The idea came up in the time of lockdown, for how to create music together across distance and was made possible by the support of Goethe-Institut.
