Curd Duca

Curd Duca´s music oscillates between pop and avantgarde, using analog samples and digital tools (“digitalanalog”), and is partly constructed, partly improvised. Some tracks are microtonal / xenharmonic. Most compositions are based on warm, natural sounds (acoustic instruments, orchestras, vocals, noise, bird calls, etc) that are cut-up and re-contextualized. He also uses granular synthesis, physical modelling algorithms, as well as digital and virtual-analog synthesizers.

All these elements get transformed into his trademark “collages of electronic abstraction”, diving deeply into the various sounds, exploring their auratic and haptic qualities, through micro-cuts and real-time improvisation. He brings the sounds to life with hand-tweaked oscillations and fluid rhythms, creating atmospheric soundscapes that are highly listenable.
